Mealsio

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 3, 2026

1. Scope and Controller

JW Labs LLC, doing business as Mealsio, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy applies to Mealsio's U.S. prelaunch Service.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Mealsio, we collect:

  • Account and profile information, including email, display name, bio, public contact email, profile image, social links, slug, and authentication identifiers.
  • Content, including recipes, ingredients, instructions, meal plans, images, pasted recipe text, and visibility settings.
  • Subscription and transaction information, including plan, price, status, billing history, Stripe customer/account identifiers, and refund or dispute records. Mealsio does not store full payment-card numbers.
  • Communications, including support, privacy, copyright, refund, and other messages.
  • Technical and usage information, including IP address, device/browser information, pages and features used, request and error logs, and security or moderation signals.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide accounts and publishing tools; display content according to visibility settings; process subscriptions, payouts, refunds, and disputes; send service communications; provide AI parsing and image moderation; secure, debug, and improve the Service; enforce our policies; prevent fraud; and comply with law.

4. Public Information and Creator Sharing

Information published on public or unlisted creator pages is available to anyone who can access the page. Public pages may be indexed by search engines. Unlisted pages are excluded from Mealsio's sitemap but are not private. Password-protected and draft pages receive additional access controls, but no online access control can prevent an authorized viewer from copying content.

When you subscribe to a Creator, information needed to administer that transaction may be available to the Creator and their connected Stripe account, including your name, email, subscription status, and transaction or dispute information.

5. Service Providers and Other Disclosures

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information as needed to the following service providers:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Clerk — account authentication and management.
  • Sentry — error monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Plausible — privacy-focused, cookieless website analytics.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting, database, and image storage and delivery.
  • AWS Rekognition — automated moderation of uploaded images to detect prohibited content.
  • OpenAI — AI parsing of recipe text that you choose to submit.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, prevent fraud or harm, enforce agreements, protect rights or security, or complete a financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. AI Parsing and Automated Moderation

When you use Paste & Parse, the recipe text you submit is sent to OpenAI to produce a structured draft. Do not submit confidential, sensitive, or third-party content you are not permitted to use. AI output can be inaccurate and must be reviewed before publication.

Uploaded images are automatically screened by AWS Rekognition. An image may be rejected based on moderation labels and confidence scores. You may contact support if you believe an image was rejected incorrectly.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar local storage that are necessary for authentication, sessions, page-password access, security, and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Plausible provides cookieless analytics and does not track visitors across unrelated sites.

8. Retention and Account Deletion

We retain account and content information while an account is active. When an account is deleted, we disable it, remove its public pages from normal use, and de-identify the account email in our primary user record. We retain information as reasonably necessary for subscription administration, payouts, refunds, disputes, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, enforcement, and business records. Backups and caches may retain copies for a limited period, and Stripe, Clerk, and other providers apply their own retention requirements. Public content copied or indexed by others may remain outside our control.

9. Your Choices and Requests

You may update profile information and visibility settings through the Service. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. We may verify your identity before completing a request and may retain information where permitted or required by law. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request.

10. Security and U.S. Processing

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls. No system is completely secure. Mealsio and its providers process information in the United States.

11. Children

Mealsio is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided information to the Service.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
